About Children’s Treatment Centres

CTCs (Children’s Treatment Centres) serve about 65,000 children and youth with moderate or severe disability(ies), usually up to about 19 years of age. The disability(ies) might be physical, developmental and/or communicative.

CTCs are community-based providers, funded primarily by the Ontario Ministry of Children and Youth Services, offering a wide range of services, such as paediatric medical services, physical and occupational therapy, speech language therapy, social work, family counselling and support, psychology and recreation services, and service coordination.

CTCs serve children on site, in pre-schools and schools, at home and in the community.

The vast majority of children and youth with disabilities being served are living at home, with daily care and support being provided by family members. CTCs offer family-centred, holistic services.
